Adult - Kemodo Baptist Vocational Centre

Kemodo Baptist Vocational Centre enrolled its first class in January of 2024 and has since graduated 2 tailoring classes and 6 computer classes. Individuals can participate free of charge to learn skills that can be marketed to support their families, and daily devotions begin each session to foster spiritual growth and maturity. Skills currently offered are computer basics and tailoring.

Kemodo Baptist Vocational Centre operates out of Kemodo Baptist Church (tailoring) and Kemodo Baptist Academy (computer skills). We own six treadle-style sewing machines and borrow the computers in the computer lab after school hours. Participants can bring their children if needed, which allows them to learn skills at no cost without the additional cost of childcare. Upon completion, these skills can be used to earn money from home or open their own business.

Word of our initial courses has spread quickly, and the need for skills training and sustainable income is great. Our prayer is to extend skills programs and course availability to include nail care and hairdressing among other skills. We also pray to be able to send graduates off with a sensible set of materials related to their course, such as a sewing machine or laptop.
