Secondary School - St. Anne Ang'orom Girls Secondary School

St. Anne Ang'orom Girls Secondary School currently educates 280 girls in Form 1 - 4 (9th through 12th grade in the US) for the 2024 school year. Tuition is 20,000 Ksh per year (roughly $155) for returning students and 30,000 Ksh (roughly $235) for new students. Core values of St. Anne are honesty, integrity, hard work, discipline, teamwork, and God-fearing. This encapsulates the quality education these girls receive in a culture where many girls do not attend past primary school. 

Consider It Joy provides sanitary pads for all 280 girls at St. Anne every month as well as tuition scholarships for needy children. This allows the girls to stay in school and protects them from venereal diseases caused by using scraps of cloth and other methods. Lack of hygienic options can cause girls to turn to dangerous habits or even prostitution to gain access to sanitary pads. Provision allows for girls to stay healthy and focus on their education.

St. Anne is currently housing 62 girls who do not have a home to go to after school hours. The school is at risk of penalty due to not being licensed as a boarding school, but the risk to the girls if forced to live on the streets has led St. Anne administration to make the choice to keep these girls safe. Donations are greatly needed to update the school building to boarding school standards as well as cover tuition costs for needy students.
